Scoutigo Pty Ltd ("Scoutigo", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. What information we collect

We collect only the minimum information needed to provide our service:

• Email address — when you submit a deal request ("Scoutigo a Deal") or a retailer tip, or sign up for price alerts.
• Search queries — the product names or URLs you search on Scoutigo, used to improve search results and catalogue coverage. These are not linked to your identity.
• Retailer URLs you submit — when you use the "Help us get smarter" tip form.

We do not collect your name, payment details, browsing history, or any information beyond what is listed above.

2. How we use your information

• To send you deal alerts or price match notifications you have requested.
• To respond to retailer tips you have submitted.
• To improve our product catalogue and search quality.
• To analyse aggregate, anonymous usage patterns to improve Scoutigo.

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-party services we use

To operate Scoutigo, we use the following trusted third-party services:

• Supabase — database and backend infrastructure. Data may be stored on servers in Australia or the United States.
• Vercel — website hosting and serverless functions (United States).
• Resend — transactional email delivery (United States).

Each of these providers maintains their own privacy and security practices. We only share the minimum data necessary for them to provide their services.

4. Affiliate links

When you click through to a retailer on Scoutigo, we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase. This is paid by the retailer — it does not affect the price you pay. For full details, see our Affiliate Disclosure.

5. Cookies and analytics

Scoutigo uses basic analytics to understand how the site is used (e.g. which searches are performed, which pages are visited). This data is anonymous and aggregated — it cannot be used to identify you. We do not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites.

6. Data retention

Email addresses collected for deal alerts are retained until you request removal. Search queries and tip submissions are retained for up to 12 months for analysis, then deleted.

7. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:

• Request access to personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your information.
• Opt out of any email communications at any time.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of Scoutigo after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
